Nassau, Bahamas ticket sales for the long awaited Flow CARIFTA Games Bahamas 2018 commenced on January 15th 2018, at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium’s Box Office. Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Honorable Michael Pintard was present for the launch and the first person in line to purchase tickets. Minister Pintard said that he is elated to be the first recipient of tickets and to formally launch the ticketing process for what is expected to be the best hosting of CARIFTA in the Bahamas.

Also in attendance for the launch were residents of foreign local associations from countries in the region. The Associations members were enthusiastically scoping out the landscape of the stadium, marking out areas where they will purchase tickets to sit together as a country to cheer on their athletes. A healthy rivalry ensued as they laid claim to bringing large contingent to this year’s Games.

The Games is set to be held over the Easter holiday, March 30th to April 2nd, 2018 under the theme “Faster, Further, Higher”. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday the 30th at 6pm. Competition will take place on Saturday March 31st , Sunday April 1st and Monday April 2nd. Morning sessions will be held -from 9am to 12 noon and evening sessions from 4pm -9pm. In between sessions the Festive Market will provide entertainment and cuisine to make it an all-day family affair.

It is anticipated that fans will witness phenomenal performances from a high caliber of junior athletes from the Bahamas and around the region.The CARIFTA Games was last held in the Bahamas in 2013 when Shaunae Miller won the Austin Sealy award.

The Austin Sealy award was first introduced to the CARIFTA Games in 1977. The Award is presented to the athlete adjudged the most outstanding, either in terms of record accomplishment, or quality of performance as compared to other top medalists or top performances.

CARIFTA track and field has become a staple in the hearts of all Bahamians and 2018 promises to be another highly anticipated event. Capacity crowds are expected at these Games.
